The Virginia Homeless Solutions Program (VHSP) provides services to individuals or families who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. If you are in danger of becoming homeless, to apply for this program you must have a: *court ordered eviction whereby the date of eviction will render you homeless within 14 days or less.

Some portions of the program are income based. Therefore, applicants must show proof of all household income.  *Other documents and proof will be required during the course of the application process.  If you are homeless, which means you are living in a place not fit for human habitation such as a car, tent, abandoned property, etc.; residing in a shelter or hotel paid for by another organization, you may qualify for services.  If a person is staying with family or friends they are not considered homeless and would not qualify for this program.

What to Expect
Assessments are completed for each applicant that calls us. During the call, you will be notified if you qualify for services. Assessments will be conducted and scored accordingly. If you qualify for services based on the screening, you will be diverted to other community resources first. If diversion efforts fail, you will be given an appointment to complete the application based on the screening.
Rapid Re-Housing Program
The Rapid Re-Housing Program assists those who are homeless with a subsidy to get into housing. To determine eligibility of applicants, we verify homelessness and use appropriate scoring on assessments. Please be advised that the application process does not guarantee approval or assistance.
