Director of Healthy Families

Patricia R. Taylor serves as the Healthy Families Program Director/Head Start Grants Writer for Tri- County Community Action Agency. In this role, she is responsible for daily supervision and administration of the Healthy Families Program and providing leadership to Healthy Families staff. She maintains quality programming as set by the Healthy Families America Standards in keeping with Family & Children’s Services mission to empower individuals and families by promoting human growth and dignity, and preventing abuse through advocacy, education, counseling, and support services. Ms. Taylor works collaboratively with the Head Start Director in researching, preparing and reporting on Head Start grants.

Ms. Taylor has been in the role of the Healthy Families Program Director/Head Start Grants Writer for nearly a year. Prior to taking this position she served as the Head Start Director for twenty-eight (28) years.

Ms. Taylor is a strong believer in the words of John F. Kennedy, “A child miseducated is a child lost”. Patricia has a passion for working with children and families in helping them to succeed.

Ms. Taylor holds a Master’s Degree in Education with an endorsement in Administration/Supervision from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Virginia State University in Ettrick VA. Her community affiliations include being a board member of Halifax County Department of Social Services and Southside Community Services Board.
